I am sure there are countless themed days out there, and well this is another one! I am not sure the exact details of how this started but I got this idea from where I work, at Boston University’s Marketing and Communications Department in Boston, MA.  During office gatherings some of the males of the office thought it would be amusing to have a suit day, our dress code is pretty casual, so with that said sometimes I guess we just wanted to get gussied up.

We successfully had one “Ugly Tie Day” with everyone involved coming up with stellar ugly ties.  It got out of hand, rules and contests, (I will admit I kind of instigated rules) so it ended up dying off and especially because guys kept forgetting every month.

So now if anyone remembers that on the first Tuesday of the month, his or her ugly tie, its “Ugly Tie Tuesday!”

I have decided to start a blog seeing that it’s a “new year” thing to do and so when I “remember” to wear my ugly tie, I will post a pic of me wearing it.  I may get some co-workers involved too, we shall see what they think of this whole thing.

Also my better half started “Fancy Headband Friday” at her work so maybe I can incorporate that into this blog too…
